Inkjet film production has a future – with our HR films, new Epson printers and StudioRIP

In February 2023, Epson expanded its SureColor SC-T series printer lineup with the SureColor SC-T5700 (36″, 914 mm) and SureColor SC-T3700 (24″, 610 mm). Like the already available SC-T7700D (44″, 1118 mm), both models were developed primarily for the production of technical drawings and posters and are therefore mainly used in the architecture, construction and construction industries.
All SC-Tx700 Series devices are based on Epson PrecisionCore printhead technology and feature Epson’s proprietary Variable Sized Droplet Technology and Nozzle Verification Technology, making production runs faster and less Require user intervention.
The innovative printheads of the SureColor SC-T series caused headaches for manufacturers of software RIP controls for a long time; familiar software technologies were no longer applicable. New solutions had to be found. So it’s not surprising that some RIP manufacturers decided to no longer support these printers (e.g. Colorgate).

In addition, Epson significantly reduced its printer model range at the turn of the year 2024 and all previous “standard printers” for inkjet film production for screen and flexographic printing, cliché and varnish plate production, were discontinued and were no longer available.
There was a fear of an end to inkjet film production on Epson printers. Now the Romanian RIP manufacturer StudioRIP SRL announces the successful control of the Epson SureColor SC-Tx700 series, as well as the Epson photo printer SureColor SC-P6500 (24″, 610 mm) and SureColor SC-P8500 (44″, 1118 mm).

Since the current StudioRIP XF IE v4.2.338 (Inkjet Edition), inkjet films and certified ISO digital proofs can be produced quickly and easily with all of the Epson printers mentioned.
Both new printer model series impress with their high efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Only 6 printing colors (plus red and black), large-volume ink cartridges (350 ml & 700 ml), and ink bags with 1.6 l capacity for the SC-T770DL and SC-P8500DL printers. The high printing speed of the new Epson Micro TFP PrecisionCore printheads increases your productivity and gives you a competitive advantage.
